Youth Services: Ready to Get Moving Toward Your Career?

If you're between 14 and 21, you may qualify for help to get you headed toward a high-wage, high-demand career. Finish high school. Move on to college and job training opportunities. Build your career skills. Turn dreams into reality!

Oregon's public workforce programs include these free services for youth who qualify:

  • Help with high school completion or earning a GED certificate including assistance with alternative school access, tutoring, and study skills training.
  • Summer employment opportunities that connect school with real world, job-related learning.
  • Paid and unpaid work experiences including internships, job shadowing, and on-the-job training.
  • Advanced career-related skills training such as entry into an apprenticeship program or a technical training program in a high-demand occupation.
  • Leadership training experiences. Take on projects, mentor or tutor others, practice teamwork, and get training in decision making.
  • Access to transportation, child care, housing, work supplies, and referrals to medical services.
  • Connection to an adult mentor who can help you find your unique place in work, school, or your community.
  • Career advice and academic planning, individualized life skills instruction, alcohol/drug abuse counseling, and mental health counseling.
  • Your own individual plan designed to help you navigate the road to your successful life.
