Recent Trends The economy has stabilized somewhat in Region 2 (Multnomah and Washington counties). The over-the-year change in jobs bottomed out in the early fall of 2009 and has slowly improved, although it still remains negative. Some industries returned to following typical seasonal trends, while a few others are struggling.
