Overview
Region 6Douglas County is located toward southwestern Oregon. Most of the county's residents are grouped within a narrow corridor adjoining Interstate 5. The largest city, Roseburg, is located along I-5 in the heart of the county.

Among the major industries in Douglas County, lumber and wood products, which comprises about 21 percent of the county's total private sector employment, is the largest in manufacturing. As of 1997, Douglas County had 2.8 million acres in commercial forest lands. The county produced 12 percent of the total timber harvest for Oregon in 2001.
