Oregon Labor Market Information System
Region 7
Overview
Region 7Region 7, which consists of Coos and Curry counties, is located on Oregon's southern coast and contains about 40 percent of Oregon's coastline. The Coos Bay-North Bend area in Coos County and the Brookings-Harbor area in Curry County are its largest urban centers.

Employment in natural-resource industries, such as wood products and fishing, has decreased in recent years. Of increasing importance are retirement income and tourism. Growth of the retirement sector has added employment in retail trade and services, especially health care.
