Central Oregon is growing again. Jobs are coming back to the region and Deschutes County is experiencing some of the fastest population growth in the West. Unfortunately this growth is resulting in a tightening of the housing and rental markets, particularly low-income housing options. Expect to see a surge in construction employment this summer as new homes, apartments, and commercial buildings break ground to meet the increased demand for housing.
