Certified Lane County 2017 Population Estimates

Certified 2017 population estimates from Portland State University’s Population Research Center show that Oregon gained 64,750 residents in 2017, for a growth rate of 1.6 percent. This was the same growth rate as in 2016.
Deschutes County was the fastest growing county, adding 6,295 for a 3.6 percent increase. Multnomah County added the most with 12,330, or 1.6 percent. Lane County was the 17th fastest growing out of Oregon’s 36 counties, adding 3,790 or 1.3 percent.

Lane County was the state’s fourth most populous county with 370,600 after Multnomah (803,000), Washington (595,860) and Clackamas (413,000).

Lane County’s fastest growing city was Creswell, adding 1.4 percent, which was an addition of only 15 people. Lane County’s largest city, Eugene, gained 1,895 or 1.1 percent to reach 165,885 people.

Lane County’s unincorporated areas added more residents (2,000) and grew faster (2.0%) than any of its incorporated areas.
