Only 5 percent of jobs in Clackamas County paid minimum wage ($9.25) or less in the first quarter of 2015 and 38 percent paid less than $15 an hour. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, about 65 percent of minimum wage workers in the U.S. work part-time, 54 percent have no college experience, and another 30 percent have some college but no degree.
The minimum wage in 2015 was about 50 percent of the county's median wage of $18.23. Clackamas County had the sixth highest median wage of Oregon's 36 counties. The highest median wage was $20.70 in Washington County followed by Multnomah ($20.53), Gilliam ($19.36), Benton ($19.06), and Morrow ($19.00).

More than two-thirds (68%) of minimum wage jobs in Clackamas County were found in leisure and hospitality, retail trade, and natural resources (agriculture). The majority (61%) of high paying jobs ($30 or more) were in local government, health care and social assistance, professional and business services, and manufacturing.
