From 2010 to 2016, the real median household income (adjusted for inflation) in Clackamas County increased by $666 (1.0%) but fell in the United States by $1,818 (-3.2%).

Median household income in Clackamas County jumped for the second straight year, reaching $68,915 in 2016. Some of the reasons economists site for this trend include: more people working, more people working full time, and increased investment gains resulting in a greater share of income coming from sources other than wages.

The U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey publishes household income by category. In 2016, nearly one-fifth (19%) of households in Clackamas County had incomes of $50,000 to $74,999 which was 0.5 percentage point less than in 2010. Households with higher incomes of $100,000 or greater made up 31 percent of all households in 2016 and the number of these households has grown by 27 percent since 2010.
