Zillow’s economic research division produces monthly home value and rental price estimates based on data gathered from home and rental listings, as well as prior sales, tax assessments, and geographic location. The Zillow Rent Index (ZRI) is an aggregate estimate of the rent prices of all rentals in the given region, including condos, single family, and multifamily buildings of any size. According to the most recent ZRI, median rents in Washington County reached $1,826 in May 2017, a 2 percent increase from the previous year. This is slightly higher than the national rent price growth of 0.7 percent over the year.
Median rents for multifamily homes were lower than the average for all rentals at $1,514 in May 2017, while rents for condos and single family homes were slightly higher at $1,879. Multifamily rents grew by 5 percent over the year, compared with a 3 percent increase in single family rents.
