2024 South Coast Gross Domestic Product
March 16, 2026New figures published from the Bureau of Economic Analysis show healthy gains in Oregon and Rogue Valley gross domestic product (GDP) between 2023 and 2024. GDP statistics are just some of the figures recently released and now available for 2024.
Gross domestic product measures the value of final goods and services produced within the United States. Also known as value added, GDP is the value of goods and services produced by private industry and government, less the value of goods and services used up in production.
In 2024, Coos County’s gross domestic product was $3.3 billion, an increase of 2.9% from 2023 and the 924th highest GDP among 3,115 U.S. counties. Curry County’s GDP was $964 million, and up 1.3% over the year, ranking 1,875th highest GDP among U.S. counties. Coos County’s GDP increase (2.9%) was stronger than Oregon statewide (2.1%) and the U.S. increase (2.8%), while Curry County’s GDP growth (1.3%) lagged those areas.
In real, or inflation-adjusted dollars, Coos County total GPD rose from about $1.9 billion in 2001 to $2.5 billion, in 2017 dollars, by 2024. Curry County real GDP climbed from about $563.1 million to $718.5 million over that time. In the past decade, Coos County’s real GDP rose by 20.5% and Curry’s GPD increased by 18.8%. In comparison U.S. total GDP climbed by 27.9% and Oregon’s GDP rose by 34.5% from 2014 to 2024.
